Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ quarterback Baker Mayfield and his wife, Emily Mayfield, through the Baker & Emily Mayfield Foundation, announced today the opening of applications for the second year of their “BE Resilient Walk On Scholarship,” supporting walk-on student-athletes across the country.
Following a successful launch in 2025, the Foundation’s scholarship program will once again award two $10,000 scholarships to currently enrolled sophomores, juniors, seniors, or graduate students who are active walk-on student-athletes at their university, highlighting the Foundation’s commitment to supporting athletes who bet on themselves at the highest level of collegiate competition.
Mayfield is one of the most well-known walk-on success stories in college football history, becoming the first walk-on to start an FBS season at quarterback, winning the Heisman Trophy, and ultimately becoming the first former walk-on selected first overall in the 2018 NFL Draft.
The scholarship’s first two recipients were Jakeb Snyder and Charles Emanuel III, walk-on football student-athletes from the University of Oklahoma and the University of Florida, respectively.
